Doubledot Media is a rapidly growing internet company providing online multi-media training resources and web applications for people looking to start or develop their businesses. With seven different products on the market and more in development, Doubledot Media is an exciting place to work!

Doubledot Media requires a computer technician to maintain our in-house computers and internal servers. The ideal person will have experience in software maintenance and have an excellent knowledge of both Linux and MS operating systems.

You will be responsible for:

• Installing, restoring and configuration of O/S software on Windows based PCs (XP, Vista)
• Installing, updating and maintain Debian Linux based servers.
• Installing dsl modems, routers, switches, hardware and network configuration.
• Installing and updating software on PCs as required.

Required skills:

• Have a solid working knowledge of apt/dpkg.
• Be familiar with vmware (server/workstation preferable)
• Good understanding of Bind and Samba
• Good understanding of user and group management
• Apache and Mysql experience helpful but not required

Bonuses:

• A working knowledge of MS Server Software.
• Hardware installation and repair skills.

You must have an IT background and have on the job experience.

This is a casual position with varied hours each week. Sometimes it might be up to 15 hours and some weeks it might be none. Would suit someone that has some free time available most weeks and is looking to earn some extra income. Work can be done outside normal office hours.
