Project Manager (Web Software)

Location: Christchurch, New Zealand
Position: Full time
Package: TBC
Status: Closed

Doubledot Media are looking for a Project Manager to help us keep all our balls in the air.

You should be highly organized with strong written and verbal communication skills. A background in technology, ecommerce, internet marketing, web application development, web design and/or copy writing would be helpful, since we dabble in all these areas in the process of creating our products and services.

Ideally you will have experience managing the development of web-based applications or software from start to finish, but if you've got experience in the above areas and you reckon you've got what it takes, then we'd like to hear from you too.

What will you be doing?

  • Creating project briefs and specifications for upgrades to our current products/sites and the development of new tools/products.
  • Managing our writers, designers, and other "non-developer" staff.
  • Coordinating with our team of developers to see projects created and implemented correctly and effectively.
  • Understanding our markets and audiences, and coming up with ideas for how to best shape our products to serve them better.
  • Straddling the fence between marketing and development, and being able to understand how one affects the other.

Essential skills and abilities

  • A background in internet marketing: ie, SEO, PPC, affiliate marketing, launching digital products.
  • The ability to communicate with utmost clarity: In writing and in person.
  • Highly organized: We always have a lot of projects on the go, and a lot of maintenance that needs doing. You need to be able to prioritise and keep everything moving.
  • Ability to manage a team, ensuring they have all the information they need. You'll be acting as the go-to person for a large proportion of the company, so it's important that you're good with people!
  • Initiative: The ability to see when things could be improved, and start setting these things in motion.
  • Resourcefulness: You should be able to research things yourself and find solutions.
  • Perspective: The ability to step back and see the bigger picture, and understand how everything is going to come together. We don't want someone who is going to get bogged down on one unimportant task!

We're looking for a person with a good head on his or her shoulders. While a background in project management and the development of web applications would be useful, w're primarily looking for someone with a broad range of skills and aptitudes who can quickly understand our products - from conception to creation, deployment, marketing and management.

If you think you've got what it takes, get in touch!
